If truth be told, if we are bold, then we can fly If truth be told, if scars are shown, then we may cry But only if, they come from those, who really care for us Then we can hold, them in our heart, cos they can’t hurt us If truth be told, then there is hope, someone can hear Then we can live, and make our way, without the fear of The light that shines, and always finds, that chink of armour That gives us pain, but helps us gain, and makes us stronger If truth be told, in them thar hills, there’s really gold Then let us dig, until we find, we can grow older Without the need, to have to say, what is expected Because the truth, can set you free, if you can let it There is no need, to have to say, what is expected Because the truth, can set you free, if you can let it

Come & Go 04:54
Milky skies Sad goodbyes Train on time Time to fly Come and go, come and go Between the smiles Across the miles Some arrive Between the lines Come and go, come and go Home is calling again Wrap you warm my friend Here’s a coin for you to spin Until I see you again Heads or tails, heads or tails Milky skies Sad goodbyes Train on time Time to fly Come and go, come and go

Given free will but within certain limitations, I cannot will myself to limitless mutations, I cannot know what I would be if I were not me, I can only -- guess me. So when I say that I know me, how can I know that? What kind of spider understands arachnophobia? I have my senses and my sense of having senses. Do I guide them? Or they me? The weight of dust exceeds the weight of settled objects. What can it mean, such gravity without a centre? What can it mean, such gravity without a centre? Is there freedom to un-be? Is there freedom from will-to-be? Sheer momentum makes us act this way or that way. We just invent or just assume a motivation. I would disperse, be disconnected. Is this possible? What are soldiers without a foe? Be in the air, but not be air, be in the no air. Be in the air, but not be air, be in the no air. Be on the loose, neither compacted nor suspended. Neither born nor left to die. Had I been free, I could have chosen not to be me. Demented forces push me madly round a treadmill. Demented forces push me madly round a treadmill. Let me off please, I am so tired. Let me off please, I am so very tired.

I would have liked to know you But that was no to be To put my arms around you To feel your arms round me I would have liked to hear you Say my name out loud I would have liked to hear you Tell me you were proud I would have liked to see my eyes Reflected in your own To know just where I’ve come from Some idea of where I’m going I would have liked to feel your breath Warm upon my face I would have liked that feeling I was in my rightful place I wish I could remember And so I guess does May Running right beside you on the sands of Colwyn bay I would have liked to tell you What I do not know But there is so much more to say Before I let you go But in the end you left me With no bag to weigh me down Free of expectation Mother Nature all around

Poison Arrow 04:55
I drew an arrow from my quiver With tip of steel and feathers light My sole intent to send a message Never meant that we should fight And as I pulled the bow towards me I held it firmly as I drew Then let it fly with self-assurance Had no doubt my aim was true But when it found the distant target It fell on ground, I didn’t know It found a heart that was still healing Found a wound where blood still flowed And so I tried to send another With words as plain as plain could be I wrapped it up inside a bottle And then I threw it out to sea And so it found the distant shoreline You saw it there but as you knelt To pick it up the glass did shatter Drawing blood where none was meant If I could feel those poison arrows Flying straight into my heart Then I might aim a little higher Where the arrows, can do no harm

If you could only trust yourself and let the birds sing out for all they’re worth the song they sing would be so loud. If you would only dare to loose your grip I’m sure you would not fall But soar up to the sky and reach the clouds You say you cannot bear to hear the sadness of the minor key Or listen to the silence in between The noise that covers up the sound of raindrops falling all around But still the sun will shine if never seen Sometimes the door’s already open Though the light that shining in is pretty faint But that’s the time to take a chance and grab the moment in both hands Just push it wide and breath the clean, fresh air the other side If you took time to sit awhile and sort amongst the stories you’ve been told I have no doubt you’d find the words Would flow like water from stream And smooth the pebbles in between And take you to the shining, bright blue sea Sometimes the door’s already open Though the light that shining in is pretty faint But that’s the time to take a chance and grab the moment in both hands Just push it wide and breath the clean, fresh air the other side You say you cannot bear to hear the sadness of the minor key Or listen to the silence in between The noise that covers up the sound of raindrops falling all around But still the sun will shine if never seen But still the sun will shine if never seen

about

Kinfolk Louth, UK

Pete, Charlotte and Harriet formed the band a few years but, as most bands do, we went our separate ways in the end, all very amicable I'm glad to say!
